Halibut with Spicy Bean Paste

1 lb halibut neck - cut into bite-sized pcs
4 tbsp frozen green peas
2 tbsp spicy bean paste(辣豆瓣酱)
2 shallots - sliced
2 cloves garlic - chopped
1 small pc ginger - minced
1 small red chilli - cut into small pcs
1/2 tsp sugar
salt to taste
1 cup water
1 tbsp cooking oil

  1. Heat up oil in a pan.  Saute the shallots,garlic, ginger and chilli until fragrant.  Add chilli bean paste and saute for another minute.  Add fish to the pan and stir fry for a while.  Add water, cover and let it simmer for 6 to 8 mins.
  2. Add green peas and cook for another minute.  Stir in sugar and salt to taste.
  3. Transfer to a serving plate and serve warm.
