2 pcs pork chop (about 1/2 inch thick) - washed and patted dry
Marinade
1/4 cup brown sugar1/4 cup soy sauce
1/4 cup sake
1 tsp grated ginger
(i used leftover marinade for the chicken drumsticks)
Add 1 tbsp soy sauce and 1 tbsp worcestershire sauce
Method
- Add brown sugar and soy sauce into a small pot and bring to a boil. When it starts to boil, reduce heat to low and stir to melt the sugar. Remove from heat. Add sake and grated ginger and combine well.
- Add additional soy sauce and worcestershire sauce.
- Place pork chop in marinade overnight in a fridge.
- Heat up grill to high. Remove the pork chop from the marinade. Place the excess marinade in a metal bowl and heat it up as you heat up the grill.
- Once grill is heated, brush some oil on the grill and place the pork chop. Grill 5 minutes on one side. Brush with some heated marinade and flip over to grill the other side for another 5 minutes or until the meat is cooked.
- Brush with some heated marinade and place pork chops wrapped in aluminium foil for about 5 to 10 minutes to let the flavours imbibed.
- Drizzle remaining marinade sauce over the grilled pork chops.
- Serve warm wtih rice or potatoes.
