Pan Fried Tofu in Beancurd Sheet



Ingredients
1 pkt medium soft tofu (washed and drained)
3 pcs dried beancurd sheet
1 tbsp soy sauce
1 tsp dark soy sauce
salt to taste
oil for pan frying
2 tbsp flour + water
 Method
  1. Cut tofu into rectangular pieces.  Marinate tofu with soy sauce and dark soy sauce for 1 hour or more.
  2. Remove tofu from marinade and sprinkle some salt onto every piece.
  3. Mix flour and water to form a thick starchy solution.
  4. Soak beancurd sheet till soft enough for wrapping.  Drain excess water and pat dry with paper towel.
  5. Cut beancurd sheet large enough to wrap each piece of tofu, using the starch solution to seal sides and edges.
  6. Heat up oil in a pan.  Place wrapped tofu, folded side down, into the pan and fry under medium low heat till brown on both sides.  Drain excess oil and arrange on serving plate.
  7. Serve fried tofu with your preferred sauce.
