Pine Nut Basil Pesto

2 cups fresh basil leaves
1/3 cup toasted pine nuts
3 cloves garlic
1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil
1/3 cup freshly grated parmesan cheese
salt and pepper to taste

  1. Place basil leaves and pine nuts in a food processor.
  2. Pulse till roughly chopped.
  3. Place garlic and cheese.  Pulse for a while.
  4. Add olive oil and pulse till all ingredients are blended.
  5. Add salt and pepper.  Stir to combine well.
Enjoy the tasty pesto over pasta.
