Burdock Root Dessert

1 small burdock root
3 cups water
sugar to taste
6 red dates

  1. Bring water to a boil.  Add red dates and sugar to taste.
  2. Peel the skin of the burdock root.
  3. Use a peeler to shred into thin slices.
  4. Place the sliced burdock root into the pot and boil over low heat for 30 minutes.
  5. Ladle into a bowl and serve warm.
