Ingredients
2 cups all purpose flour
1 1/4 cup sugar
1-1/2 cups applesauce
1/2 cup butter, softened
2 large eggs
1-1/2 tsp vanilla
1-1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp baking powder
1-1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp salt
3/4 cup raisins
3/4 cup chopped walnuts
Method
- Heat oven to 350 degrees f. Grease and flour a bking pan. Set aside.
- Combine all cake ingredients, except raisins and walnuts in a large bowl.
- Beat at low speed until all the ingredients are moistened.
- Beat at high speed, scraping bowl often, until smooth.
- Stir in raisins and walnuts.
- Pour into prepared pan. Bake 40 to 50 minutes or until center is firm to the touch and edges begin to pull away from sides of pan. Cool completely.
- Cut into slices and enjoy the moist and tasty cake!
